Adrian Warnock has recently put up a post I think is really helpful in terms of how a Christian should respond to the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Here are his top ten tips:
- We should not be surprised
- We should be humbled before the awesome power of “Nature”
- We should not assume that the end is at hand
- We should not assume that the end is not at hand
- We should not specifically blame the Japanese
- We should not blame God, but we should pray
- We should understand that suffering is in the world because of sin in a general sense
- We must not assume that the devil “won” this time
- We should look forward to the day when there will be no more pain
- We should share the glorious gospel of Jesus that brings us hope and work to relieve suffering
