Pornography blocker ‘opt in’

Erm…right…so I read this article in my RSS feed the other day…I agree with the idea behind it, but ‘opt-in’? Why not ‘opt-out’?!

Has our country actually come down to the fact now that parents have to actively choose for their children not to illegally watch porn?

Wow. God save us.

Who chooses hell?

Something I read in the Bible interested me yesterday:

…if anyone who hears the sound of the trumpet does not take warning, and the sword comes and takes him away, his blood shall be upon his own head….I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live…’ (Ezekiel 33:4,11)

Someone said something recently that struck me: God actively chooses Christians to get saved from hell (so Christians can’t take credit for it), non-Christians themselves actively choose not to go to God (so non-Christians can’t call God unfair). I wasn’t sure about it, but I am now. Here’s how it plays out.

I know that I’m spending the rest of eternity with Jesus – the very fact that I was reading the Bible out of choice shows that I am not the same person I used to be!

But a non-Christian simply does not believe. I could beg with a non-Christian to become a Christian, but they would be adamant that they don’t want to become a Christian. Well, great. It’s your choice.

What interests me, though, is that I say something like this, and it makes unbelievers’ blood boil. Someone said to me the other day ‘you can believe what you want, but you can’t tell me what I believe is wrong’. Sounds like I can believe what I want providing I believe what you believe…he said he didn’t like that I might suggest he would go to hell – it would appear that he doesn’t believe that hell exists providing he’s not going there…discuss.
